Clearfield based State Police investigated the Robbery of the Woodward Pharmacy, in Woodward Township, yesterday. A white male entered the pharmacy, shortly after noon, yesterday, and demanded Oxycotin from the Pharmacy Tech at gun point. The suspect then fled the scene with a bottle containing approximately 100 Oxycotin tablets. The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 30 years of age; about 5 feet 10 inches tall; weighing approximately 130 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded Pittsburgh Steelers sweatshirt with an emblem on the front and a large circular Steelers emblem on the back, a red shirt and a camouflage handkerchief over his face. Officers continue their investigation. Anyone with information concerning this Robbery is asked to contact State Police at Clearfield at 857-3800.

 

The City of DuBois Water Department is alerting the public that a water leak at the intersection of North Third Street and East Sheridan Avenue will be repaired today. (Friday, March 19th) Beginning at 9:30 am water will be shut off to North Third Street from East Sherman Avenue to Lakeview Drive; Lakeview Drive from East Sherman Avenue to East Sheridan Avenue; and Lakeview Drive to North Third Street. Water will be shut off to these areas until the project is finished which is expected to be later today.

 

PennDOT has issued an update for the Hospital Avenue / Dixon Avenue realignment project for next week. Prospect Street between Hospital Avenue and Mundorf Avenue will continue to be closed. Miller Avenue between South Main Street and Prospect Street will also continue to be closed. These closures will remain in effect until further notice. The installation of sewer lines will take place on Miller Avenue. No traffic impacts are expected at the Grove Avenue location where there will be excavation and grading taking place. Hospital Avenue will have excavation and embankment placement. Storm drainage pipes will be installed throughout the project with no traffic impacts anticipated. PennDOT reminds all motorists to follow the signed detour route. All work is weather dependant on the $4.2 million project. The project is scheduled for completion in late November of this year.

 

Lawrence Township Police have received a parking complaint from the Lawrence Township supervisors regarding parking at the Starz building in Hyde. Individuals are parking at the building parking lot and car pooling. The public is reminded that the building and parking area is Township property and parking there outside business purposes will result in the vehicles being ticketed or possible towed at the owners expense. 

 

A Port Matilda couple has pleaded guilty to transferring nearly $770,000 from a Port Matilda business account into their personal checking account. 52 year old Linda Cushard is accused of electronically transferring the money from a business account of Shephard's Machine Shop of Port Matilda into the joint checking account of Cushard and her husband 37 year old Eugene Cushard. At the time the money was transferred, between spring of 2005 and fall of 2009, Linda Cushard was an administrative assistant at the Port Matilda business. The couple signed agreements to plead guilty to charges of interstate transportation of stolen property and make full restitution.
